Using textiles, sculpture, installation and printmaking techniques Samar Hejazi’s artworks explore the possibilities of expanding the internalized boundaries of meaning-making. She draws inspiration from various craft traditions and employs elements such as light, shadow, reflection and movement to create immersive multidimensional experiences through which she investigates the ever-shifting nature of perception in reality.
RIMA MOUKAHAL
Rima Moukahal is a Lebanese self-taught artist. Her journey began when she was offered a scholarship to study drawing in Italy, but the civil war in Lebanon put a pause to her artistic pursuits for nearly two decades. After a long career in the corporate world, she decided to return to her passion. Rima pursued intensive private courses in drawing and painting, mentored by prominent Arab artists in Cairo, Beirut and Dubai. Her practice is rooted in Abstract Expressionism inspired by her personal emotional and psychological reactions to collective human experiences.
NOUR ELBERY
Nour Elbery is an Egyptian artist, architect and curator currently based in Dubai. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the American University of Sharjah (B. Arch 2022). Her visual art practice is rooted in the traces of the rich historical tapestry of Egypt where she was born and the UAE where she was raised. She uses her architecture education as a lens to view the world, stripping it from its rigid regulations and code systems which allows her to freely explore topics and subjects that wouldn’t typically be nuanced spatially.
