EXHIBITIONS
Bayt AlMamzar hosts a rigorous annual schedule of exhibitions, which encourage artists, curators and researchers to explore experimental modes of exhibition making.

Rooms for Error
By: Nadine Ghandour
Curated by: Dawn Ross
Working across drawing, writing, performance, and sculpture, Ghandour blends imaginative storytelling with factual observation.
Drawing from her experiences in Dubai, Sharjah, Cairo, and Rotterdam, Rooms for Error examines the fast-forward city—a place where infrastructure struggles to keep up with expansion, where characters exist in a state of chronic uncertainty, and where architecture itself seems on the verge of collapse. The works reflect on the adaptability, or failure of the human body in these unstable environments.
Ghandour constructs a world where people mould themselves to fit their surroundings, where furniture and architecture take on human qualities, while in other works the characters look to the furniture and architecture around them for guidance. As the external world rushes, the works in Rooms for Error capture an internal sense of slowness – a moment of reflection or even resistance to the overwhelming sensory overload of the fast-forward city. There is a stillness, a mundaneness, and a sense of suspension reflected in the works that create a delicate tension, heightened by the materiality of the work, and the precarious yet thoughtful way some works have been installed.
Alongside the exhibition, Bayt AlMamzar will host a performance of The Man Who Can’t Make Decisions, a work rooted in Ghandour’s writing practice, which explores indecision and vertigo in a city of floor-to-ceiling water views.
